The New 2021 Jeep Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a staple of American SUVs. But with the new 2021 edition soon arriving, is it worth investing in the new model?

While the new 2021 Jeep Cherokee resembles its older editions, it has a wide variety of trims and features to satisfy just about anyone. In this guide, we'll be exploring what's new for the 2021 Cherokee while discussing its five distinct trims to help you make the right decision.

What's Different for the New 2021 Jeep Cherokee?
The three-row L model makes its debut as the new generation for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 2021 two-row model is debuting as well. The two-row Grand Cherokee is moving over to the new platform for the 2022 model year with many of the same luxury and tech upgrades as the 2021 L model.

The new three-row Grand Cherokee is shaping up to be a solid pick this year. It has an excellent balance in features and pricing.
These features include:
Automatic high-beam headlamps
Remote start
Interior ambient lighting
Driver memory settings
Power-operated rear liftgate

But what about Jeep Cherokee 2021 specs? What about its engines and cargo makes the new model so enticing?

Engine, Transmission, Performance
The standard 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with a V-6 engine. If you buy the Limited trim, you'll receive the V-8 engine instead. The V-6, however, transmits very little vibration despite a strong pull. The engine does an excellent job pulling the Cherokee's heft and is ideal for pulling it around town or on the highway. Its towing capacity is impressive as well. The V-6 models can pull up to 6,200 pounds and up to 7,200 for the V-8.

Fuel Economy
When compared to other SUVs on the market, the 2021 Grand Cherokee is very fuel-efficient. The V-6 engine has a reliable highway fuel-economy score of 25 mpg.

Interior and Cargo
The 2021 Grand Cherokee's interior design stays true to its roots while adding a layer of luxury and professionalism. It sports a modern interior design, with enough space behind the second row of seats to carry almost a dozen cases.

The Cherokee has 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Safe to say, you'll be able to store plenty of cargo in the back. The car seats about five people with plenty of accommodations in the front seat. Taller passengers won't have much trouble with the height, leading to comfortable drives. Releasing the headrest and flopping the seats over is a simple, one-step process. Whether you're transporting cargo or driving your family around, the 2021 Cherokee is a model vehicle.

Safety Features
The 2021 Grand Cherokee received four out of five stars on their safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The frontal crash test got four stars while the side crash got five.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Cherokee the highest ratings in all six crash tests. The headlights for many of its trims received favorable ratings as well. Some important safety features for the 2021 Grand Cherokee include a forward collision warning mechanism and automatic emergency brakes.

It also sports lane keeps assist and blind-spot monitoring. On top of that, the Grand Cherokee features a rearview camera for maximum coverage. It also sports several advanced safety features such as automatic high-beams, adaptive cruise control, and automatic parking assist.

2021 Jeep Cherokee Trims
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has five trim models: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Latitude Lux, Trailhawk, and Limited. Most of these trim models come with front-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive. The Trailhawk comes with standard four-wheel drive. Let's go over each trim to examine their features and how they compare to one another:

Latitude
The Latitude is the most basic Cherokee model. It's got many entry-level SUV features but isn't lacking in terms of quality. The Latitude trim's features include Nine-speed automatic transmission and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. It also has 17-inch alloy wheels and 60/40-split rear seats.

If you want to connect your smartphone, the Latitude has Android and Apple smartphone integration as well. It also comes with standard driver aids including blind-spot monitors and rear-cross traffic alert.

Latitude Plus
The Latitude Plus is basically an extension of the Latitude trim with some extra comforts. This includes foglights, a remote start feature, and keyless entry. Other Latitude Plus additions include a windshield wiper de-icer and rear USB ports. It also has a satellite radio on top of heated front seats and driving wheels.

Best of all, the Latitude Plus comes with rear automatic braking. If the back sensors detect a collision, it'll automatically stop your Cherokee.

Latitude Lux
The Lux comes with a standard V-6 engine and Nappa leather upholstery. An optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is also available.

On top of that, it also has a dual-pane sunroof and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The Lux also has power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. You also get power outlets throughout the vehicle as well as auto-dimming rearview mirrors.

Trailhawk
The Trailhawk trim is only available with the V-6 engine. As mentioned before, it comes standard with a four-wheel-drive system. The Trailhawk's engine, 4WD, and tires make it particularly useful for all-terrain driving. Other features include an 8.4 touchscreen and all-terrain tires.

Limited
The Limited is without a doubt the most luxurious out of all the different Cherokee trims. It comes fitted with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and power liftgate.

Similar to the LUX, the Limited trim comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Standard Limited features include18-inch wheels and automatic climate control.

It also comes with driver-seat memory settings and adaptive cruise control for optimal comfort.
The Elite package adds a WiFi hotspot, heated second-row seats, and ventilated front seats.
